1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use AirRemote, we may collect:

• Account information, such as your email address, password hash, session information, and account relationships.
• Gateway and connected-device information, including identifiers, names, firmware versions, network status, signal strength, IP address, schedules, configuration status, sensor readings, and last-seen times.
• Activity information, such as commands, command results, device events, alerts, sharing activity, and diagnostic logs.
• Communications, including support messages, email delivery information, incoming SMS messages, phone numbers, and SMS delivery reports when those features are used.
• Technical information, such as browser or app information, request headers, approximate location inferred from IP address, timestamps, and security logs.

We collect information directly from you, automatically from your browser, app, gateway, or connected devices, and from service providers that deliver communications or infrastructure services for us.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

• create and secure accounts and maintain authenticated sessions;
• connect gateways and compatible devices and carry out requested commands;
• provide schedules, alerts, history, sharing, firmware updates, and support;
• send transactional email or SMS communications you request or enable;
• monitor reliability, troubleshoot problems, prevent misuse, and improve AirRemote; and
• comply with law and protect users, AirRemote, and others.

3. How we disclose information

We may disclose information to vendors that help us operate hosting, databases, email, SMS, monitoring, and other service infrastructure; to people you direct us to share gateway or device access with; when required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety; or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Cookies and local storage

AirRemote uses essential cookies and secure device storage to keep you signed in and operate the service. Blocking these technologies may prevent account or dashboard features from working. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

5. Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security and business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type. We may retain de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No internet transmission, connected device, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

7. Your choices and rights

You may update certain information through AirRemote, control optional alerts, sign out, or ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights and a right to appeal a decision. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, and legal exceptions may apply.

8. Children

AirRemote is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

9. International use

AirRemote and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as AirRemote changes. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where required.
